The Washington Commanders are heading into the 2026 NFL season with some question marks surrounding how good their team will actually be.
Is Jayden Daniels actually good? Can the offensive supporting cast play at a high level? Will the defense improve compared to last year's unit? These are all fair questions, as the Commanders are at a crossroads as a franchise this season.
However, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, NFL league circles are sharing "considerable" hype for Daniels this upcoming season for what could be a return to superstardom for the 2024 first-rounder.
Jayden Daniels receives 'considerable' hype from NFL circles
"Jayden Daniels can reclaim his place as a premier quarterback, and there's considerable hype in league circles that Daniels will get back on track and be a problem for the rest of the NFC East," Fowler writes.
This is exactly the kind of report that Commanders fans will love to hear prior to their Week 1 matchup against the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles.
While it's a tough matchup right from the start of the year, Daniels has played fairly well in his matchups against Philadelphia.
If this hype from those around the NFL were to come true, then the Commanders might see Daniels return to stardom right from the get-go in Week 1.

While there is no denying the concerns about the offensive line, the running back and tight end rooms, and even some worries at wide receiver, this team should be good enough for Daniels to thrive.
Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs, and Antonio Williams, with running backs Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Rachaad White, are a decent group of weapons for Daniels in 2026.
David Blough calling the plays will be a bit of an adventure, but this report from Fowler indicates that the NFL still believes in Daniels, and that this upcoming season could be a return to form for the 2024 first-rounder.
