The Phoenix Suns have dealt with plenty of injuries this season. Their most recent setback was sustained by Dillon Brooks, as the Phoenix forward suffered a broken hand.
That said, no member of the Suns has missed more time this year than Jalen Green. Following a trade from the Houston Rockets over the summer, Green dealt with various hamstring injuries, limiting him to 10 of 58 games to this point in the season.
This setback was new to Green, as he'd never missed more than 15 games due to injury during his first four seasons in the league.
In Green's 10 appearances this year, his scoring numbers have dipped and understandably so. Those 10 games include a game in which he left due to injury, as well as five games where he came off the bench on a minutes restriction.
As a result, Green is averaging a career-low 13.3 points per game in addition to career-lows in rebounds (2.8) and assists (2.4).
Recently, Green's teammate Collin Gillespie spoke on Green's play, defending his teammate.
"Everybody has got to have a little grace. He's been out for three quarters of the season. It's not an easy thing to do to just insert yourself back into the lineup and be able to just play at that level or play at the speed of the game."
As for Green and Gillespie, the two will be expected to shoulder the offensive load Tuesday night against the Boston Celtics, as Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks and Jordan Goodwin have all been ruled out.
