Only five of the 16 national seeds reached the College World Series, and one of them will be going home Monday.
No. 6 Texas and No. 7 Alabama lead off the action from Omaha with an elimination game after dropping their openers in the all-SEC bracket.
Neither of those games Saturday was especially competitive, either. The Crimson Tide fell 9-0 to Oklahoma, which got seven shutout innings from freshman Cord Rager, but the Longhorns had it even worse against Georgia starter Joey Volchko, who allowed a lone unearned run while striking out 15 in 7-1 a complete game win.
Getting the bats going again will be a priority for Alabama and Texas, while the Sooner and Bulldogs will look for more of the same when they face each other in a winners' bracket game Monday night.
