Cody Rhodes worked with rising stars and top legends during his time at AEW. However, he picked a surprising name as one of the people he most enjoyed working with in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
The aforementioned legend, who is a WWE Hall of Famer, is Jake "The Snake" Roberts. He had been a part of AEW since 2019 and had an in-ring confrontation with Cody Rhodes on an episode of Dynamite to introduce Lance Archer as his client. During the segment, the duo had an intense back-and-forth exchange with each other.
In a recent edition of the All The Smoke podcast, Cody Rhodes was asked about some of his favorite people to work with inside the ring. He named Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, stating he learned a lot from him in one single promo, citing the aforementioned promo segment with him in AEW and called it a masterclass.
"I named a lot of luminary figures like Mr Heyman and Michael Hayes, but wrestler in the ring that I really enjoy working with .... I tell you one that I learned a lot from very short amount of time, Jake Robert, Jake "The Snake" Roberts [The Snake]. I learned a lot from him in just a single promo, single promo, I learned how a guy can basically cut your legs if you are strong enough as a character, you can stand to that, if you weren't, he's going to move past you. The real sign of what we do, the competition on who gets to the top, that's all very very real, just the other parts of it are not. I learned a great deal of work from him, I don't share that with him enough, coz it was just that one night that we had this interview and I just got a masterclass and had I not had feet planted in the ground, this guy would have just eat me up and moved on, but he was one I thought was very special." - [1:05:34-1:06:38]John Cena's last opponent leaked?
