Coco Gauff reveals who did her hair & makeup for WTA Finals photoshoot, gives BTS glimpse into full outfit as fans seethe over lackluster event

Coco Gauff joined her fellow women’s singles players for the WTA Finals photo shoot in Riyadh, proudly sharing that she did her own hair and makeup. This came after the photoshoot received heavy criticism for the outfit choices and the tournament’s lack of effort in promoting the event.

Coco Gauff began her 2024 season dominantly, racking up the most WTA 1000 titles before 21. She won her first Major doubles title at the French Open, alongside her new partner, Katerina Siniakova. After bearing the US flag during the Paris Olympics closing ceremony, Gauff ended the season with her first WTA Finals victory, edging Chinese player Zheng Qinwen in the Championship round.

Gauff will enter the court this year as the youngest player to qualify for four consecutive editions since Sharapova, who achieved the feat between 2004 and 2007. She upped the glamour alongside her fellow players at the photoshoot and revealed that she did her own hair and makeup.

Ahead of the Tour Finals kicking off on November 1, 2025, fans expressed frustration as the official player photos were released hours after the shoot. Many tennis fans also criticized the outfit choices when the photos surfaced on social media, noting that the top eight singles players appeared ‘depressed.’

The 2025 WTA Finals will feature two groups: the Steffi Graf Group, consisting of Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Jasmine Paolini, and the Serena Williams Group, consisting of Iga Swiatek, Amanda Anisimova, Elena Rybakina, and Madison Keys.

Coco Gauff achieved massive success in 2025, winning her second Grand Slam title at Roland Garros. Despite an early exit at the US Open, the American went on to win the Wuhan Open after reaching the semifinals of the China Open. As she now heads to the year-end Championships to defend her title, the 21-year-old has received acclaim from tennis legend Martina Navratilova, who believes that Gauff’s serve could be a major threat to other players if she executes it correctly.

"When the serve is happening, it’s a real weapon, and I’m glad she’s figuring that out. Her movement is better than anybody else. She can always depend on that. It’s the one thing fully under her control. She knows she can run and defend no matter what. Then she manages the rest. When she comes forward, she has a very good volley and it’s hard to get the ball past her. She just won in Wuhan, so she should be confident," she said. (WTA Tennis)
