Clippers could trade $197M All-Star after NBA ruling

After the Los Angeles Clippers were fined by the NBA more heavily than some initially expected, they'll have to make some interesting decisions over the next few years to ensure that they still have some assets. 

The NBA docked the Clippers five first-round picks, a decision that won't help anyone involved. It's tough for the fans, the organization, and everybody else. As a result, it wouldn't be crazy to see the Clippers move on from a few guys.

According to Sean Deveney of Heavy, one of those guys could be Darius Garland, as he could return assets to Los Angeles.

“Darius Garland, Clippers. (Remaining contract: two years, $87 million.) The Aspiration-Kawhi Leonard punishment could set into motion a series of events that winds up with Garland being placed firmly on the market as the Clippers seek to recoup as many future draft picks from the roster,” Sean Deveney wrote.

“Anyone want to give up two picks for him?”

The idea of moving on from Garland isn't wrong. 

However, he's not exactly a player who's going to return them four first-round picks or something. 

He'd obviously be able to land them a couple of assets, which is better than nothing, but it's an interesting idea and something Los Angeles might consider after Wednesday.
