Clash Royale December Update 2025: Heroes explained

With the Clash Royale December Update 2025, Supercell has introduced powerful new versions of existing cards in the game. Called Heroes, these variants feature a special ability button that you can activate in combat. Some of these units can pick up troops and throw them into the opposite lane, while others can spawn short-range turrets that deal area damage.

Heroes in Clash Royale December Update 2025: Everything you need to know about them

Supercell has released four Hero versions in the Clash Royale December Update 2025, one each for the Mini P.E.K.K.A, Musketeer, Giant, and Knight.

To use Hero cards, place them in the golden slots of your deck. Unlike Evolutions, Hero abilities can be used every time the card is played. However, certain skills can only be used once per deployment.

Heroes and Champions now share the same slots in a deck. The first Hero slot unlocks at Arena 15, while the second becomes available at Arena 25. In the meantime, Champions will automatically be transferred to the appropriate Hero slots to ensure they remain battle-ready.

Here are the new Heroes and their abilities:

• Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A (Ability: Breakfast Boost): The more pancakes this Hero eats, the more she levels up. Since the Mini P.E.K.K.A can stack up to five pancakes, its Hero version can gain five additional levels during battle.
• Hero Musketeer (Ability: Trusty Turret): The Hero Musketeer spawns short-range auto-turrets in front of her that deal AOE damage upon placement. These turrets then target both air and ground units, acting like defensive buildings that shut the door in enemies' faces.
• Hero Knight (Ability: Triumphant Taunt): The Hero Knight taunts nearby enemies and crown towers, luring them into attacking him first. Opponents must break through his shield before dealing damage.
• Hero Giant (Ability: Heroic Hurl): The Hero Giant possesses the ability to throw nearby troops into the opposite lane. This action stuns the troops and deals immense damage upon landing.

You can unlock random Heroes in the Clash Royale December Update 2025 by collecting 200 Fragments. These Fragments can be obtained from Events, Hero Boxes, or through the Pass Royale. In case you summon a Hero that you already own, you will receive cards for them, along with 60 additional Hero Fragments.

The upcoming Crown Chase event, which will be available to all players who have reached Arena 15, will allow you to summon your very first Hero for free.
