A former WWE manager has predicted the return of Chris Jericho amid rumors of his comeback over the past few months. The veteran also suggested a team-up between Jericho and a popular 43-year-old star.

The Ayatollah Of Rock 'n' Rollah left WWE in 2018, returning to NJPW and joining AEW in 2019. He was one of the foundations of Tony Khan's promotion, becoming the first-ever AEW World Champion. However, it seems like he's expected to return to WWE once his contract expires later this year.

Speaking on the latest episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the ex-WWE manager expects Chris Jericho to return to the biggest wrestling company for one final run. Mantell, who was famously known as Zeb Colter, even suggested a possible partnership storyline between Jericho and LA Knight.

"I think Jericho and LA Knight, I think they'd be a good team together. And then, you know, they're both like smartasses with each other, especially Knight. I think they could really build something out of this I'd be interested in. Both those guys are good, so when you have an idea, you know, give it to those guys and let them. I think they would have great chemistry together, and I think they could have a good little run out of that. I'd be interested in it," Mantell said.

At 54 years old, Chris Jericho is likely in his final run as an active in-ring performer. LA Knight, on the other hand, is waiting for the right push into the upper echelon of WWE, and getting into a story with Jericho could elevate him further.

Chris Jericho won't be part of Last Time is Now Tournament

Once the Last Time is Now tournament was announced to determine the final opponent for John Cena, fans began speculating that Chris Jericho or Edge will be part of it. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer confirmed that both stars are still under contract with AEW.

While Jericho is expected to leave the company, his contract is not expiring until later this year. Meltzer predicted that it someone like Matt Cardona, more famously known as Zack Ryder, could be part of the tournament.
