Chris Jericho has been an integral part of All Elite Wrestling since its inception. He signed with the company in 2019 and went on to become the inaugural AEW World Champion. In his tenure, he delivered some epic matches with veterans, young stars, legends, and top tag teams. Some of these showdowns are known among the fans for changing the landscape of AEW forever.

Y2J could be on his way out of All Elite Wrestling as his contract is rumored to have expired this month. He has not appeared in the company since April this year. With that, Jericho is expected to sign with WWE sooner rather than later. Therefore, it is a perfect time to look back at the illustrious run The Demo God in AEW.

In this article, let's talk about Chris Jericho’s top 3 matches in AEW:

#3. Chris Jericho vs. Jon Moxley at AEW Revolution 2020

Chris Jericho faced Jon Moxley at AEW Revolution 2020 for the AEW World Championship. The match was built all around Jericho's attempts to recruit Moxley into his Inner Circle faction. However, Mox refused to join the group, and Y2J attacked his right eye. This set up a deeply personal rivalry between the two stars in 2020, and they delivered an even better match at Revolution pay-per-view.

From near falls to close counters, the match was filled with epic moments all around the arena. Jericho showcased his heel tactics throughout the match, and his Inner Circle made sure to make things difficult for Moxley. But in the end, The Purveyor of Violence overcame the odds to end Y2J's 182-day title reign. This match made headlines all across the wrestling world, and many even appreciated Jericho's consistent performance.

#2. The Inner Circle vs. The Elite & Matt Hardy in the first-ever Stadium Stampede match

In 2020, at Double or Nothing, AEW delivered one of the most innovative match types in the history of professional wrestling, Stadium Stampede. It featured Chris Jericho's Inner Circle up against The Elite and Matt Hardy in the TIAA Bank Field. The showdown was filled with cinematic moments all over the Football stadium. Jericho led his team towards total mayhem against Kenny Omega and his company.

From a brawl in a bar to a clash in the swimming pool, the match was a chaos. In the closing sequence, Kenny Omega delivered a picture-perfect 'One Winged Angle' to Sammy Guevara from the stadium seats to defeat Jericho's team. Overall, it became a historic match in the career of all the men, also adding a few more pages of history to the grand career of the Y2J.

#1. Y2J vs. The Ariel Assassin

Chris Jericho faced Will Ospreay at AEW All In in 2023. Ospreay was coming into the match with a lot of momentum after big wins against stars like Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada. Therefore, the question was whether he would be able to beat a legend like Jericho at AEW's biggest stage. The two stars delivered an epic showdown at Wembley Stadium, bringing their storyline to life with absolute mastery.

There were plenty of near falls and counters throughout the match that kept the fans engaged. But despite his valiant efforts, Jericho failed to defeat the Briton at All In. It was one of the biggest wins of Will Ospreay's career at that time. It was the only singles match between the two stars in their career. While Y2J failed to score a win, that battle was enough to present him as a generational talent.
