An absent AEW star recently made a heartbreaking announcement that has drawn reactions from Chris Jericho, Natalya, and other wrestling stars.

That star is Danhausen, who has been missing from All Elite Wrestling programming since the World's End pay-per-view in 2023. During his absence, it was revealed that there are no creative plans for him, but also that his contract, which was supposed to end in 2025, could extend into 2026 if injury time is added. Yesterday, the "Very Nice Very Evil" star suffered a devastating loss as he revealed in a post on Instagram that his grandfather had passed away.

"Rest in peace Papa. You were the coolest grandpa. Go see your family whenever you can. Make time for them. I’m grateful and fortunate I was able to do this as often as possible," he wrote on Instagram.

AEW star Danhausen sends an intriguing birthday message to CM Punk

Despite working for rival promotions, Danhausen maintains a close relationship with CM Punk, especially given the Second City Saint's controversial departure from AEW. "The Very Nice, Very Evil" has a banteresque relationship with Punk. In that spirit, he posted a hilarious birthday message for the "Best In The World" star yesterday, as he turned 47.

Danhausen dropped the birthday wish on X, hilariously claiming that he'll be sending 100 Dairy Queen orders to Punk's house.

"Happy birthday going to send 100 Dairy Queen’s to your home while you are not there happy birthday" Danhausen wrote on X.
