Uncertainty surrounding Chris Jericho's AEW status continues to persist in the midst of rumors suggesting that he is on the verge of returning to WWE. The legend has now shared another reference to his run in the sports entertainment juggernaut, adding more fuel to the speculations.

Despite being one of AEW's biggest names at the time of its foundation, and in spite of his contributions behind the growth of the promotion, it appears that Chris Jericho's time in All Elite Wrestling could be coming to an end after his contract expires this year. Conjecture indicates that Y2J is expected to return to WWE subsequently, with many anticipating his comeback as an entrant in the 2026 Men's Royal Rumble.

It was recently reported that the Stamford-based company could be offering Jericho a retirement program upon his return. All the signs are seemingly pointing to The Ayatollah of Rock N' Rolla heading back to his old stomping grounds, especially judging from his numerous social media references to his previous stints in the promotion.

Just a while ago, the 55-year-old dropped yet another throwback on his Instagram story- this time sharing a clip of him beating Triple H for the WWE Championship on an iconic April, 2000 episode of RAW is War.

Jericho's title win against The Game on the night in question unfortunately had to be reversed later, as the referee Earl Hebner had performed a faster count than usual on Triple H, lashing out at the latter over his mistreatment of him.

Eric Bischoff thinks Chris Jericho is WWE-bound

While speculations are still circulating with respect to Chris Jericho and his AEW future, former wrestling booker Eric Bischoff shared his prediction regarding The Learning Tree's next destination on a recent edition of his 83 Weeks podcast. Bischoff argued that the inaugural AEW World Champion is likely going to return to the Triple H-led promotion, stating:

"He's a very smart guy and he plans ahead. He thinks ahead... If I had to bet money, I would bet he's going to end up in WWE. If I had to bet, and somebody would really have a reason to force me because I wouldn't want to take that bet, but if I had to, that's where I'm putting my bet.... I don't know what the plan is, but Chris has got a plan," Bischoff said. "Now I'm seeing real subtle little nods to WWE. Just enough to get social media to pay attention, not overt." It remains to be seen what lies next on Chris Jericho's pro-wrestling journey.
