Ten years ago, Chris Conley scribbled a childhood wish: "Play 10 years in the NFL." On Saturday, he finally checked that box, then pointed his compass toward new goals.
On Saturday morning, the veteran wideout announced on Instagram that he’s hanging up his cleats, and his wife, Brianna, was among the first to celebrate his career. Moments after Conley’s Instagram announcement, she reshared the post in her IG Stories with a proud note:
"Seeing you accomplish your goal of playing 10 years in the NFL was incredible.Your work ethic and determination is inspiring. Can’t wait to see you excel in the next chapter."•

Brianna is a florist who owns her own business, Ivy & Iris. They got married in 2019. The couple now shares two daughters, Calani (b. October 2021) and Caia (b. February 3, 2023).
The retirement announcement came after Conley completed his 10th NFL season, fulfilling a promise he made to himself as a child, as per his retirement announcement post.
During his career, the former Georgia Bulldogs standout played for five different franchises. These were the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and, most recently, the San Francisco 49ers.
Chris Conley heads to Georgia Film School after showing creative interests during his college career

Chris Conley carved out 132 appearances and 65 starts, averaging nearly 23 yards per game and finding the end zone 15 times. His breakout performance came in 2019 with the Jaguars—47 catches, 775 yards and five touchdowns
Yet, Conley’s playbook off the field hinted at where his real passion lies. Between Georgia practices, he commandeered a camera crew to bring to life “Retribution: Darkness Falls,” a 26-minute Star Wars fan film that he wrote, directed and starred in.
His X profile—where he weighs in on shows like "The Last of Us" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp"—already bills him as a “wanna-be” writer-director.
Now he’s officially swapping NFL jerseys for screenplays. His agent, Jonathan Perzley, confirmed to NFL Network that Conley will return to Athens this fall to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and Digital Media through UGA’s Franklin and Grady colleges.
The program, ranked No. 43 by The Wrap, boasts a 14,000-square-foot soundstage at Athena Studios.
And in true Chris Conley fashion, he closed his announcement exactly as he began it—with a nod to dreaming bigger. “See you in the next dream,” he signed off.
