Chloe Kim has officially made America’s Olympic snowboarding roster despite the serious injury she suffered earlier this month.
Team USA revealed on Thursday that Kim will be one of many Olympic vets, including Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn, who will compete for the Stars and Stripes at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Games.
It, of course, was no given certainty considering what she went through just a couple weeks ago.
In a video on her Instagram page on Jan. 8, the 25-year-old said she sustained a significant shoulder issue while falling during a practice session.
She included a video of the tumble, and in the footage, her arm could be seen twisting in an awkward manner.
Days later, Kim said she tore her labrum, but was grateful it wasn’t worse.
Still, she appeared to have some qualms about her chances for the Olympics, saying, “Obviously, I’m really disappointed that I can’t snowboard until right before the Olympics, which is going to be hard.
“I haven’t gotten nearly the amount of reps I would’ve liked, but that’s OK.”
Kim — the girlfriend of NFL star Myles Garrett — won the gold medal in the halfpipe in 2018 in PyeongChang and again in 2022 in Beijing.
If healthy, she’s considered the favorite to win the event once more when it kicks off early next month.
