The Chipotle Nationals have finally arrived, and the opening round of the boys action is set to tip at 6 p.m. EST Wednesday, April 1, at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana.
Each of the 10 teams competing in the event are ranked among the nation's top 12 teams in the latest edition of The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball Top 25. That includes the top four teams in the country in the No. 1 Dynamic Prep [Dallas, TX], No. 2 AZ Compass Prep [Chandler, AZ] Dragons, No. 3 Prolific Prep [Fort Lauderdale, FL] Crew, and No. 4 Paul VI [Chantilly, VA] Panthers.
Other teams competing at the event include the No. 7 CIA-Bella Vista Prep [Scottsdale, AZ] Bears, No. 8 SPIRE Academy [Geneva, OH], No. 9 Wasatch Academy [Mt. Pleasant, UT] Tigers, No. 10 Link Academy [Branson, MO] Lions, No. 11 Montverde [FL] Academy Eagles, and No. 12 Archbishop Stepinac [White Plains, NY] Crusaders.

The Chipotle Nationals will get under way on Tuesday with two opening-round games. In the first game scheduled for 6 p.m. EST, No. 7 Wasatch Academy will take on No. 10 Link Academy. That game will be followed by the 8 p.m. contest featuring No. 8 SPIRE Academy against No. 9 Archbishop Stepinac.
Last year, the event determined The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball national championship as the Columbus [Miami, FL] Explorers defeated Dynamic Prep, 67-49, in the championship game. Columbus missed out on the event this year, but the Explorers won the Throne tournament championship last weekend to claim another major postseason trophy.
For Dynamic Prep, this year's event marks an opportunity to make up for last year's flub in the title game. The No. 1-ranked Texans would win the national title if they win the event, and that's true for the other three teams ranked in the national top four, including No. 2 AZ Compass Prep, No. 3 Prolific Prep, and No. 4 Paul VI. The No. 5 Sierra Canyon [Chatsworth, CA] Trailblazers would likely be the national champion if all the top four teams in this event fall short of winning the Chipotle Nationals.

Dynamic Prep is among six teams making consecutive appearances, including Prolific Prep, CIA-Bella Vista, Wasatch Academy, Link Academy, and Montverde Academy. Link Academy, meanwhile, is making its fifth straight appearance while Prolific Prep is extending its streak to six years.
But no team can compare to Montverde Academy's illustrious history at the Chipotle Nationals. The Eagles are making their 14th straight appearance in high school basketball's premier postseason event. The Eagles have won seven titles during that run, including most recently in 2024 when current Dallas Maverick and NBA Rookie of the Year candidate Cooper Flagg scored 31 points to lead the Eagles to a 79-63 win over Paul VI.
A total of nine games will take place over the course of the four-day event played at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana.
