Patrick Mahomes is smiling.
The Kansas City Chiefs' superstar QB is still working his way back from a season-ending knee injury, but in a recent press conference, Mahomes looked almost giddy.
No, he wasn't talking about his knee.
He was talking about Eric Bieniemy, the Chiefs' offensive coordinator who was gone for a few seasons but now is back in that OC role this season.
Mahomes seems thrilled, both in his words and his body language:
#Chiefs Patrick Mahomes & Trey Smith say players unfamiliar with Eric Bieniemy haven't seen the real EB yet. But they've quickly learned how much energy the new OC brings to KC.

"I haven't seen him look this happy in years," one account wrote in reply to that video.
The Chiefs had some of their best times offensively when Bieniemy was in the offensive coordinator role previously.
Those were different days, of course. Travis Kelce was in his prime, and they had the explosive Tyreek Hill.
Even for Bieniemy, though, this has to be a refreshing return. His departure to grow his resume and maybe become a head coach eventually didn't work out.
It's a happy reunion, and while the season is still months away, and Mahomes' knee still needs to heal fully, the vibes are definitely good with the Chiefs right now.
