The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best tight ends of all time on their roster in ten-time Pro Bowler Travis Kelce, but at age 35, he'll only play for so much longer.
Kelce is an 11-year veteran and will go down as one of the best tight ends to ever play. A three-time Super Bowl champion, Kelce has been one of the most consistent pieces in the Chiefs' offense, but the team will eventually have to find another tight end to replace Kelce.
One option that the Chiefs could potentially trade for is Cole Kmet, the tight end of the Chicago Bears, according to Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox.
"There are a few reasons why Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet could be on the move sooner than later—even though he has three years remaining on his contract," Knox wrote. "The most obvious reason is that Chicago just used a first-round pick on tight end Colston Loveland. Kmet has been a very good pass-catching tight end for the Bears, averaging over 500 receiving yards per season. However, new head coach Ben Johnson may prefer Loveland's skill set."
"The Kansas City Chiefs should also consider taking a flier on Kmet if he's available. Travis Kelce is still holding down the starting job, but he'll turn 36 in October. The Chiefs could view Kmet as a potential successor to Kelce and a great complementary option behind Kelce, along with Noah Gray. It's worth noting Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy coached Kmet for two seasons in Chicago."

Kmet has been a solid player for the Bears, racking up 474 receiving yards or more in each of the past four seasons. The 26-year-old is on a four-year, $50 million contract, according to Spotrac, and is under team control through 2027. As Kelce nears the end of his career, the Chiefs will need to look for a replacement, and Kmet could be a great addition.
