Travis Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs faced a controversial call early in their game against the Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. The Colts were up 7-0 after a Patrick Mahomes interception but the Chiefs looked like they tied the game when Kelce caught a touchdown. However, officials called a facemask penalty and the score did not count.
Replays showed Kelce’s hand near the defender’s helmet; however, many fans believed it was not enough for a facemask. NFL reporter Ari Meirov shared a slow-motion clip on X and fans argued about whether the call was the correct one.

Others spoke against the call.
"Grabbing a helmet is still a penalty, even if it goes against the chiefs!" a fan tweeted. "Can't wait to hear about how the refs are the only reason the Chiefs ever win later today," another fan commented. "Looks like he grabbed the facemask and even if he didn’t it’s still hands to the face, so no matter what there’s a penalty," one fan said.Travis Kelce discusses retirement plans
Travis Kelce opened up about his future as the Kansas City Chiefs are at risk of missing the playoffs. He considered retirement after last season but returned in hopes of winning another championship. Kelce has played better this year; however, the team has struggled.
He plans to think about retirement again after this campaign. The tight end stressed that he will not delay the decision because he wants the Chiefs to prepare properly.
“Seeing my brother go through it and seeing, I don’t know, how the league works," Kelce told reporters on Friday. "I want to give the Chiefs a good opportunity, whether I come back or not, and vice versa. I’d like to make that decision before they have draft picks and free agency. All of that will be after the season. I won’t think about it until then.”Kelce has 50 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns this year.
