Chiefs get Chris Jones gift in latest mock draft

Exactly how the Kansas City Chiefs will play the first-round of the NFL Draft is a pure guessing game.

General manager Brett Veach knows that the roster has several holes that need to be filled, and for most, those are corner and edge.

With Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie leaving in free agency, plus Chris Jones and George Karlaftis needing help rushing the passer, it is easy to see where the Chiefs could go at No. 9.

And for CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, in his latest mock draft, he has the Chiefs taking Miami edge Rueben Bain at No. 9.

"Yes, he has short arms," Prisco wrote. "Yes, he had some off-field concerns. But he is a playmaker. The Chiefs have to amp up that pass rush."

Should Bain be the pick?

If the Chiefs deem him as their top player on their draft board, then yes.

Of course, arm length is a concern for most, but Bain was still super productive in college. However, the NFL is different, and the Chiefs would need to find the right way to use Bain, maybe having him over the center or guard and rush the passer.

If there is a team in the NFL that can figure out how to use a pass rusher with short arms, it's Kansas City and Steven Spagnuolo.

The concerns are real, but so is Bain's production. The question is, do the Chiefs think they can get the most out of Bain? If the answer is yes, he's the ideal selection here.
