Chiefs fans will love Travis Kelce's quote on returning in 2026

The NFL's free agency period has begun, and we found out that, indeed, Travis Kelce would be returning to the Kansas City Chiefs for Year 14.

With many unsure exactly what Travis would do, as the days rolled on, it became clear that Kelce had unfinished business with the Chiefs.

Now that he is coming back, the Chiefs won't have to worry about their tight end position for another year at least, and the offense, with the addition of Kenneth Walker, should be in much better shape moving forward.

And for Travis, who was a guest on the Pat McAfee Show, he detailed that the fire to play football still burns bright.

"I'm still in love with this game, I still love going to work, putting on the pads, grinding it out, playing the game," Kelce said. "I think my best opportunity was playing for the Chiefs and running this thing back with Pat Mahomes and Coach Reid, got Coach Bieniemy back, there's a lot of pieces in Kansas City that I absolutely love and I can't wait to get back into the building with them."

Kelce ready to run it back

There's no other way to put it, last season was horrific for the Chiefs. And it is clear Kelce doesn't want that season to be his last.

With Mahomes recovering well from an ACL injury, coupled with some key free agent signings, the Chiefs have had a decent start to free agency. Now with a stud back to help ease the passing load on Mahomes, that, in theory, should open up things for Kelce and his teammates.

Of course, we eagerly await seeing what the Chiefs do in the draft, but having Kelce back to help push this team forward into a new era is great for fans.
