There is a lot to be said about self-confidence in sport. It is so hard to get, and so easy to lose.
For Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chris Oladokun, having been in the NFL system for four years, he had never started a game until Week 17 against the Denver Broncos.
While he had confidence in his ability, he had revealed that there was always a little doubt about whether he could actually play at this level. Why? Because he had never done it.
But the previous two weeks against the Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos have given him the self-confidence that he can do it, and that he does have a future in the NFL.
“The thing that I take the most from it is that I belong in the league,” Oladokun said. “When you don't play for four years, your mind can sort of wander. Am I really supposed to be here? Should I be somewhere else? You're not really sure because you haven't done it.
"So, to go out there and actually do it versus guys that are starters and all pros and pro bowls, it gives you that confidence like I do belong here. So, I think that's what I've taken the most from it.”

Oladokun looking to end season on a high
For most, Week 18 is like the last day of school before the year ends.
Everyone wants it over as quickly as possible.
But for Oladokun, the importance of this game can't be understated.
Having had to wait for his chance for four years, now he has gotten it, and he's got to make the most of it.
Having performed well against the Titans and Broncos, he now gets his second consecutive start against the Raiders, with an eye on making the roster in 2026.
In the grand scheme of things, this game means nothing.
But for Oladokun, it means the world.
