Chiefs' Andy Reid ready for Bills 'battle'

The next chapter of the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills' heavyweight showdown will be written on Sunday, with Andy Reid's team looking to buck the recent trend in the regular season.

In what is a somewhat odd occurrence, the Bills have won the last four regular-season games, while the Chiefs have won the last four playoff games, ending Buffalo's season in devastating fashion.

Now, this Week 9 game has a lot riding on it, more so for Buffalo, given that Kansas City is seen as its bogey team, and we know that these two have been at the peak of the AFC mountain for the past couple of seasons, so it will be a fascinating matchup.

And Reid can't wait.

“Look forward to the challenge of playing Buffalo, we know they're a good football team,” Reid said. “There's a lot of history between the two teams over the last few years, and it's been a good battle every time that we have an opportunity to play each other.

"Sean [McDermott] does a great job with that crew, and he's got a very good coaching staff and good players. So, we've got to have a good week of preparation.”

Chiefs officially back in playoff hunt

They were never really out of it, were they? Even at 0-2, there were some who thought Patrick Mahomes and Co. would steady the ship, and they have done so.

Winning five of their last six games, averaging at least 28 points per game, and the defense under Steve Spagnuolo has allowed a combined 24 points in the last three games. So, things are beginning to come together nicely.

Of course, a trip to Highmark Stadium will be a true test of whether the Chiefs are back or not, and the chance to heap on more mental misery for the Bills, who themselves have been a little wobbly over the past three weeks despite the 40-9 win over the Carolina Panthers last week.

It is a contest against two genuine Super Bowl contenders. Who will emerge victorious?
