A still from Chicago Fire season 14 (Image via YouTube/@nbconechicago)The shortage of staff has been one of the biggest issues this season, and it has now brought a big problem for Violet and Novak in episode 6. The two handle a crisis where a woman got severely injured after falling through a skylight in her home. Not only was her wrist severely bleeding, but her neck injury kept obstructing her breathing.
The lady's daughter kept panicking throughout the situation, which Violet thought would come in the way of the treatment. While Violet asks her otherwise, Novak lets the girl come along in the ambulance to the hospital. However, their ambulance gets stuck in a major roadblock, while the patient's health keeps deteriorating. No other ambulance was available on service due to a shortage, making the situation more difficult to handle.
With the help of Truck 81, Severide, Pascal, and Annette Davis, the two solve the issue through a risky step. With the firetruck underneath the overpass, the patient is swung down with precision and rushed to the hospital. The sequence showed Firehouse 51's coordination and determination to help the public.

Vasquez tries to reach out to Lindsay Belfort's husband, Cliff, in the latest episode. He does so to convince him to help get his father out of jail. His first meet-up with Cliff does not go well as the latter slams the door in his face. Upon sending voice messages to Cliff, his sister comes to meet Vasquez.
While Vasquez's father was jailed for planting evidence, it helped the killer, Bianchi, to escape punishment. Cliff's sister pointed this out and told Vasquez to stay away from her brother. However, Cliff responds to Vasquez's messages and agrees to meet.
In a shocking twist, it is revealed that Cliff did not blame Vasquez's father and was grateful for his help on the day Lindsay died. He further revealed that it was Vasquez's father who reached the house first and not paramedics, making his father's claims wrong. This confuses Vasquez, who further confronts his father about the situation at the end of the episode.

Isaiah learns about the loopholes in her mother's current care and informs his foster parents about the same. Kidd looks into the matter and realises that things were much worse than what Isaiah found.
With Goodwin's guidance, Kidd finds a good healthcare facility for Isaiah's mother. However, it was in Cleveland, which meant that shifting might be required for the patient. Kidd decides to go to Cleveland with Isaiah for a couple of weeks to oversee the entire process for his mother. This moves Isaiah, further making his bond with Kidd stronger.
Severide constantly supports Kidd throughout the issue while also handling new responsibilities at work. With Pascal's absence, he had more leadership tasks at hand. In episode 6, he shadows Pascal, and they head to meet the mayor's chief of staff, Annette Davis. This was a strategic move by Pascal to help Severide learn about the relationships he has to maintain with a bigger position. During the meeting, they also coordinate with Violet and help the team rescue the severely injured lady.
