Chelsea eased to a comfortable 3-0 win in the final of the Club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
The Blues rode on a stellar performance by their star player, Cole Palmer, who racked up two goals and one assist to take Enzo Maresca’s team to victory.
However, the only sour point on the day was the injury picked up by Chelsea vice-captain Enzo Fernandez, who was taken off on the hour mark after picking up what looked like a hamstring injury.
Maresca took no chances with his key player and immediately replaced him with the talented Andrey Santos in the heart of Chelsea’s midfield.
It was an eventful day for Fernandez, who was also involved in a flare-up with Achraf Hakimi in the first half.
The Argentine's match was cut short due to injury, but he was still seen in the thick of it when both sets of players clashed again after the final whistle.

After getting their hands on the lucrative Club World Cup title, Chelsea will have a few weeks of downtime before they regather for the 2025-26 Premier League season.
As they head into their off-season, though, the Blues will have one eye on Fernandez’s injury, and they will hope that it's not too serious so that he does not miss the start of the next campaign.
