The Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons made headlines on Monday night because they had a scuffle. Amid all the controversies between the players, it was a fun matchup.
It was a game between the hottest team in the league that had a nine-game winning streak, and the top team in the Eastern Conference standings. Unfortunately, that was overshadowed by the brawl, but Charles Lee is still proud of his Hornets.
Lee is proud of the Hornets' bravery against the Pistons
Before the game on Monday, the Hornets were the hottest team in the league. They were beating everyone they played against, but it ended against the best team in the East.
It was still a possibility that they would extend the streak to 10 games, but that did not happen. The Pistons delivered on their status as favorites, so they won the game in a physical affair, 110-104.

Most people will remember the scuffle between the two teams, which will lead to some suspensions, including one to Isaiah Stewart. This should be a lesson for the Hornets, as they also suffered ejections, including one to Lee.
However, this was a great outcome for the Hornets because they are proving their mettle against the best in the East. It was disappointing to have a brawl, but the Hornets are ready to compete.
"This was a freaking great game for us. Phenomenal opportunity for us to play against the top seed right now. They were tested with physicality and competitive threats thrown at them," Lee said after losing to the Pistons.
"All the physicality. Gotta commend that tonight... Our competitive spirit tonight was really good."
It might be a disappointing result for the Hornets, but they managed to prove to the rest of the league that they are legitimate. It will be hard to beat them in any situation nowadays.
