Celtics waiting for LeBron James to likely make decision on $11 million All-Star

The LeBron James situation isn't just holding up teams from making other decisions, as certain free agents have to wait to find out where he lands. Once James makes his decision, we should get a better feel for how things will end up going, even with guys like Bradley Beal.

Unfortunately for teams interested in Beal, he isn't the same type of player that he once was, but his market is still being impacted by James, according to the latest report, which could be why the Boston Celtics haven't signed him yet.

Reports have indicated that the Celtics are very interested in the former star guard.

“Bradley Beal only played six games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season before sustaining a season-ending hip injury. Beal had a player option to return in 2026-27, but he opted to decline it in order to hit free agency, which makes me think he wants to join a more apparent contending team. Again, all the contenders who need a playmaker/scorer are waiting on James, so Beal is probably not going to sign anywhere until James does,” Matt Issa wrote.

The Celtics signing Beal might not be what any fan wants, but it's important to note his relationship with superstar Jayson Tatum.

Tatum certainly calls a lot of the shots in Boston, and if he wants a guy like Beal on his roster, it wouldn't be surprising to see that be the outcome. For now, however, we'll probably have to wait until James makes his decision.
