Celtics trade proposal sees team make deal with eternal rival in three-team trade

The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers have been eternal rivals since the early days of the NBA. However, in a trade proposal by Celtics on SI’s Ricardo Klein, the Celtics and Lakers would be partners in a trade, along with the Utah Jazz.

The trade would look like this:

Celtics get: Patty Mills and a 2025 second-rounder from the Jazz

Lakers get: Xavier Tillman

Jazz get: Jalen Hood-Schifino

This trade gives every team what they want and need. The Celtics get Mills, a veteran guard with playoff experience to help lead a relatively young team and a pick in the upcoming draft. The Lakers get Tillman, which gives them more frontcourt depth, which they desperately need. Finally, the Jazz get Hood-Schifino, a young guard who hasn’t produced this season due to lack of minutes, but could be good for the rebuilding Jazz.

Whether the Celtics consider this or not, it’s a good trade for all. And, it’s most likely one of the few trades the Celtics make this season, considering they don’t need a blockbuster.
