The wait is over, as we now know Giannis Antetokounmpo will be a member of the Miami Heat in the 2026-27 season.

A trade was announced late Monday night, confirming a package consisting of Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware and other players/picks was headed to the Bucks.

This means that the Celtics were the team out of the two favorites to come out empty-handed, despite putting forth a competitive offer.

ESPN's Shams Charania confirmed that the Celtics final trade offer was centered around Jaylen Brown and two first-round picks.

The Bucks, in the end, viewed the Heat's offer as better, opting for more players and better picks, instead of getting a superstar in Jaylen Brown.

Reports suggested the Bucks had interest in Celtics 2025 draft pick Hugo Gonzalez, but it appears Brad Stevens didn't make him available in the final offer.

The Bucks now have a clear blueprint for how their draft will look, with less than 24 hours to go before it begins.
