Jayson Tatum's jump shot was never the most conventional looking in the NBA.
Right now, though, the Boston Celtics' superstar's shot looks dangerously close to broken.
A video of Tatum shooting in practice started making the rounds on social media this week, and fans are concerned.
The premise is that Tatum is doing very little jumping, and a lot more arm flick, an almost exaggerated version of what his shot previously looked like.
And given it pairs with a career-worst shooting percentage from 3-point range, it at least adds up to being a problem.

The shooting mechanics almost certainly aren't random. Tatum missed almost a year with a torn Achilles.
Whether from a physical limitation or simply from a lot of time off from jumping and shooting, Tatum's form naturally could've shifted at least a little bit.
If the ball goes in, no one will care. But if Tatum doesn't trend upward with his percentage from beyond the arc, this will remain a concern.
He's been letting it fly early and often since getting back, seemingly in an attempt to get caught up to speed before the playoffs arrive.
Tatum has proven he can get plenty of shots off with these mechanics. The Celtics will want to see them start dropping through the basket.
