CeeDee Lamb injury update: What Jerry Jones said about Cowboys star's Week 7 status

4 hours ago 1

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb made progress with his ankle injury at practice last week but still wasn't able to suit up in the Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Lamb didn't practice all week, but he was getting some work in on a side field, which marked the first time that had happened since he suffered his high-ankle sprain in Week 3.

Now, our attention turns to Week 7 to see if Lamb will make his long-awaited return to the field.

By all accounts, it looks like there's a good chance that happens, especially after owner Jerry Jones' comments on Tuesday.

CeeDee Lamb injury update

During his usual spot on 105.3 The Fan, Jones was optimistic on Lamb's chances of playing in Week 7. The same can be said for Tyler Booker and KaVontae Turnpin.

"Without being doctor here and without the benefit of a week of practice, we are thumbs up on all. It’s looking good but that’s just it, you gotta have a week of practice," Jones said, per ESPN's Todd Archer.

This is just the latest positive injury update we've received on Lamb in the last few days.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said on Monday that Lamb has "a chance" to play this week, and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said the same in his report on Sunday.

Lamb was initially expected to miss three to four weeks with his injury, so the expectation was he'd be back in Week 7 or 8

Based on all the information we have, it looks like Lamb will make his return this week.
