Cedric Coward admits he is glad that Cameron Boozer will be his teammate for the future

Now that Cameron Boozer is playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, people are getting to see why he was such a lauded prospect in the 2026 NBA Draft. If he were in any other class, he would have easily been the first overall pick.

Unfortunately, he was in the same class as Darryn Peterson and AJ Dybantsa. Despite that, the Grizzlies are excited to keep having him as a star player and a franchise building block for the foreseeable future.

Cedric Coward is ecstatic about the Grizzlies' future with Cameron Boozer

As the son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, Cam has to meet high expectations. He has been a highly touted prospect for a long time, but it seems he is still surpassing those expectations.

Boozer is such a talented prospect because he has everything a coach would love in a star player. He has good size at 6'10", but at the same time, he has an impressive skill ceiling with his scoring and playmaking.

Cam has a natural skill to him, which has made him such a threat. As long as he has the ball, he can make an impact because he can post up, go off the dribble, and find his teammates.

"I can't believe he's 18. I'm glad he's on my team," Coward aptly said about Boozer after the Grizzlies' win vs the Bulls at Summer League.

In that Summer League game against the Chicago Bulls, most of the headlines will focus on what Caleb Wilson did. He set the record for the highest-scoring NBA Summer League debut ever, but it seems Boozer got the last laugh with the win.

Boozer himself had a good night with 23 points, six rebounds, and four assists. With that kind of production, the future is extremely bright for an 18-year-old rookie like Boozer.
