The United States men's national team begins the 2030 World Cup cycle in earnest as they host South American side Peru in an international friendly from Inter.co Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Saturday.

With Mauricio Pochettino signed on for another four years, the USMNT begins a new four-year period with the idea of building towards the tournament in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

To get things kicked off, Pochettino has called in a young squad with the idea of testing new talent who not only hope to give the federation an injection of new talent, but also hope to make their case for a spot on the 2028 Olympic roster on home soil in two years' time.

One of those future stars is Cavan Sullivan, the 16-year-old Philadelphia Union phenom who is set to make his USMNT debut today against Peru, who are ranked 50th by FIFA and did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup on U.S. soil.
