The Cleveland Cavaliers have been linked to LeBron James for a while now, and for good reason. It’s been rumored that LeBron is going to retire soon, and that the Cavs would bring him back for a farewell tour, as well as a championship run.
Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley predicts that is what will happen, and the Cavs will sign LeBron to a one-year, $15 million deal. He’ll have his swan song, and get to compete for a ring one last time.

“If James keeps playing, his market won't be enormous. He just wouldn't make sense in a lot of places. That said, those interested figure to be very interested. Staying with the Los Angeles Lakers feels more possible than it did earlier this season, but you could also see him heading back for a final go-round with the Cleveland Cavaliers, sharing a locker room with Stephen Curry on the Golden State Warriors or even embracing the Big Apple for a quick spin with the New York Knicks. Prediction: James signs a one-year, $15 million deal with the Cavaliers,” Buckley wrote.
So far this season, LeBron is averaging 20.9 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and 1.1 steals in 33.6 minutes per game. Even in his 40s, he’s still a threat on the court.

Also, he’d be sharing the floor with three superstars: another former MVP in James Harden, a perennial All-Star in Donovan Mitchell, and a former DPOY in Evan Mobley. LeBron would slot in at small forward, and would give the Cavs arguably the best starting five in the NBA.
Hopefully, the Cavs are able to work this. If they could land LeBron and keep their starters, a trip to the Finals might be in their future.
