While struggling to put together a good stretch of games, it's made Cleveland Cavaliers fans reminisce about what once flowed for the team in 2024-25.

At this time last year, Cleveland had a record of 25-4, and head coach Kenny Atkinson was continuing to make a push for what he would later win. The 2024-25 NBA Coach of the Year award.

Just one year later, the success hasn't been as easy, resulting in a 15-14 record ahead of their matchup against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night. The drama has piled on, and Atkinson appears to be the latest NBA head coach in the hot seat.

Cavaliers could be looking to make a change soon, and it could be with Kenny Atkinson

Dallas Hoops Journal's Grant Afseth broke down multiple moves that the Cleveland Cavaliers could do to flip their season around.

One of them had to do with head coach Kenny Atkinson, mentioning that one source told him, "Kenny (Atkinson) does a great job of building a young team into a winning program. Does it stop there, though? He hasn't shown he can take a contender over the top."

Could firing Kenny Atkinson be an option for Cleveland?

Afseth mentioned that the leader of the Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell, would prefer the team's current assistant, Johnnie Bryant, to be the next head coach of the team if Atkinson is let go.

While currently riding a three-game losing streak entering Monday, the apparent top head coach of last season is now at a place where his job is on the line.

The real question is whether Kenny Atkinson truly is holding this team back from showing the same success they had last season, or has the large number of injuries held the team back from getting any momentum together?
