Hollywood is mourning a beloved star. 

Catherine O’Hara, known for her roles in The Studio, Schitt’s Creek and Home Alone, has died, E! News can confirm. She was 71. 

No information regarding Catherine’s passing or cause of death has been shared. The death of the Emmy winner comes less than a month after she was absent from the Golden Globes, despite her nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Supporting Role for her portrayal as Patty Leigh alongside Seth Rogen, Kathryn Hahn and Ike Barinholtz in The Studio

While Catherine was a fixture of the late 80s and 90s for her role as Delia Deetz in Beetlejuice as well as Macaulay Culkin’s mother in his beloved holiday franchise, she had a career resurgence in 2015 for her iconic role as Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek

“I just wanted to have a character that I wanted to live with,” Catherine told E! News in 2020 of the beloved role. “The fact that anyone else cares about her or finds her entertaining, or even thinks she's crazy, or some people actually talk about how they learn something from her.”
