A former "Station 19" star is reentering familiar territory later this month. Jay Hayden, who played firefighter Travis Montgomery on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off, will recur on CBS' "Fire Country" this season, TV Insider reports.

Hayden will play Mason, a former professional baseball player who hails from one of Edgewater's most powerful families. Described by CBS as "confident and charismatic," Mason returns to his hometown "to convert his family's old paper mill into a new business and reconnect with his old buddies, but he has a secret agenda that could either help or hurt the town."

Among those "old buddies" are Bode (Max Thieriot) and Jake (Jordan Calloway), who apparently played baseball with Mason back in the day. Hayden's first episode of "Fire Country" airs Friday, October 30 at 9/8c on CBS.

Following Hayden's seven-season run on "Station 19," he recurred in Season 4 of CBS' "FBI: International," playing honorary team member Agent Tyler Booth. Prior to "Station 19," his resume included memorable roles on "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "SEAL Team," "One Day at a Time," "Criminal Minds," and more shows.
