The Arizona Cardinals' pursuit of a potential Kyler Murray replacement at quarterback continues.
One new QB name that popped up on Tuesday: Tyson Bagent.
You'd be forgiven if you're a Cardinals fan and haven't heard of Bagent. He just finished his third year in the NFL, and second as the Chicago Bears' backup to Caleb Williams.
This is what Arizona sports writer John Gambadoro posted on X on Tuesday:
"Have heard the Cardinals are intrigued by Bears backup QB Tyson Bagent. He has one-year left on his deal so would have to trade for him. Grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia and went to Shepherd University. Was an undrafted free-agent who beat out PJ Walker for the backup job with Chicago and was so good the Bears signed him to a 2-year $10M extension."

Bagent is certainly an awesome story. He was in tears in the preseason at his press conference after the Bears signed him to his extension, explaining how he came from a place where no one ever made it out to earn that kind of money.
Maybe his next step is a starting job, or at least a competition, if the Bears could be compelled to trade him away.
The Cardinals owe a lot of money to Murray, so if they want to replace him, they'll need to get someone that's at least a bit of a value. Bagent certainly seems to fit that.
Bagent, 25, has appeared in 12 career NFL games.
Four of those were starts, with a 2-2 record in those games.
He has completed 99-of-149 passes (66.4%) for 917 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions. Bagent has also run 31 times for 109 yards and two scores.
He's still quite unproven, but the Cardinals are looking to find untapped potential somewhere. Bagent, at least conceptually, could be the right fit.
