Cardinals' Trey McBride sets an all-time NFL record for tight end history

Trey McBride stands alone.

An NFL tight end has never had as many catches in a single season as McBride has had for the Arizona Cardinals in 2025.

His record was achieved Sunday, with a week to spare.

Jacoby Brissett found McBride for catch 117, one that would feel at least a little sour given how the Bengals dominated the Cardinals on this day.

But here's that piece of history:

McBride had 111 catches in 2024, which now ranks fifth all-time.

He entered Sunday's game with 109 catches.

The previous record was held by Zach Ertz, who had 116 catches in 2018 for the Eagles.

Evan Engram had 114 catches in 2023 for the Jaguars.

Brock Bowers had 112 catches in 2024 for the Raiders

McBride will have a chance to extend his mark if the Cardinals choose to play him in Week 18.

But he already has made history in impressive fashion.
