There's a ton of excitement about the Arizona Cardinals having rookie Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame in the fold this season. It doesn't get much better than starting a season with a super-talented running back ready to make plays and score points.
But the Cardinals may have to wait to see him in the big light in September.
In a piece released on Tuesday, Alex Kay of Bleacher Report projects when injured standout players will finally take the field with their respective NFL teams. As is always the case in the preseason, some players aren't even practicing right now because they're injured. These are players teams are relying on come September.
Jeremiyah Love's NFL debut could be delayed
Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is making real progress from a high-ankle sprain but won't practice this week. That's not a good sign for whether he'll be available for Week 1. With the start of the season approaching, Arizona may take a cautious approach and wait until Week 2 for his NFL debut.
"Given the strength of this platoon coupled with the four-week timetable for recovery from this type of injury, it isn't worth pushing Love into the lineup for Week 1 if he's not 100%," Kay notes. "Missing an entire week of practice won't help the rookie's case either, so it's more reasonable to expect him to make his NFL debut when the defending champion Seattle Seahawks come to town in Week 2."
So, it could be a wait to see this former Notre Dame star and Cardinals hopeful in the fold and on the field.
