The Cincinnati Bengals are heading into the 2026 NFL season with a lot of optimism for a bounce-back year with a revamped defense and their strong offense returning.
But at practice on Tuesday, the Bengals got a major scare. Ja'Marr Chase, their superstar No. 1 wide receiver who's incredibly important, suffered an injury.
Yanni Tragellis of CBS Cincinnati shared the video of Chase getting hurt, which appears to be a knee issue. This is a big concern for the Bengals, as a Chase injury would be catastrophic for their regular-season chances.
Bengals get concerning Ja'Marr Chase injury scare at practice
Tragellis posted that "Ja'Marr Chase is hurt," with the accompanying video that shows Chase landing awkwardly trying to make a catch and bending his knee in a bad way. He limped off the practice field and went to the ground for a moment.

— Yanni Tragellis (@yannitragellis) August 25, 2026Such a scene is obviously a massive concern for the Bengals superstar WR. If Chase is going to miss time, it would be a massive blow for the Bengals offense.
However, Tragellis followed up that report with a note that Chase "walking on his own off the field with a trainer." He wasn't carted off the field, nor was he supported as he left the practice field.

Chase walked on his own power without a limp, seemingly avoiding a serious injury, as his initial reaction and injury sparked fears.
But that doesn't mean he's completely out of the woods yet, as Chase might still get some medical attention to make sure there isn't anything wrong with his knee.
Bengals fans, for the most part, can breathe a sigh of relief as it doesn't seem to be serious enough to warrant a cart, which is a good sign.
This is still a worrying situation, and one worth monitoring as the updates come out ahead of the 2026 NFL season that's just around the corner.
