One family of Cardinals fans got an in-game experience that may have been more than they were expecting on Sunday.

During the eighth inning of the second game of a doubleheader between the Mets and Cardinals, a foul ball towards the seats on the third base side at Busch Stadium brought the family face-to-face with St. Louis third baseman Nolan Arenado.

Arenado was chasing down the ball hit by the Mets’ Juan Soto when he made the catch, but the momentum took him into the netting that’s around the stadium and the major leaguer went tumbling onto a family sitting in the front row.

The group appeared to be five people, which included two young girls who took the brunt of the hit as Arenado fell into the seats and netting.

Both girls appeared to be OK after he got up and immediately got up to check on the group.

Feeling bad for falling on them, he left the ball with the family as a souvenir.

Arenado had two hits in four at-bats while recording an RBI and striking out once in the second game of the doubleheader.

He also had two hits and a walk in the first game against the Mets.

The Cardinals won both games on Sunday, a 6-5 win in the first game and a 5-4 victory in the second game.
