The Arizona Cardinals beat the Dallas Cowboys in an incredible comeback win that went to overtime and saw Gardner Minshew come in and take the starting quarterback job.

But he wasn't the only one to take over in this one. Tyler Allgeier also turned into a weapon for the Cardinals, putting together a monster performance in the OT win. That only happened because Jeremiyah Love left the game early due to an ankle injury.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the news for Love isn't good. The star running back selected No. 3 overall is headed to injured reserve due to this ankle injury.

Cardinals get brutal news as Jeremiyah Love hits IR due to ankle injury

"Sources: #AZCardinals RB Jeremiyah Love is headed to Injured Reserve because of a high-ankle sprain that knocks him out for 4-5 weeks," Rapoport reports. "Arizona's first-round pick has previously been dealing with a different ankle sprain."

This is some horrible news for the Cardinals and their No. 3 overall pick. Love, who has been in and out of the lineup due to injury, is now on injured reserve.

He had avoided landing on IR this season as he nursed ankle injuries, though he did miss some time earlier this year. He finally came back for Week 8, but suffered another ankle injury that is now known as a high-ankle sprain that requires an IR stint.

The Cardinals have lost their rookie RB for the next four games, meaning Love will miss Weeks 9, 10, 11, and 12. With a 4-5 week timeline for a return from injury, Love could come back for Week 13.

But considering they have a Week 14 bye, it might make sense for the Cardinals to sit Love out for that matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, and then try to bring him back for Week 15 to close out the regular season.

The Cardinals have a soft schedule to end the year, facing the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers from Weeks 15 through 18.

Love is going to miss at least four weeks, potentially five, with the bye week giving him a chance to miss six weeks and hopefully recover from a high ankle sprain and come back to end the season.

If he can return to action for those final four weeks of the year, Love could provide something positive to take away from his injury-riddled rookie season.

But, for now, the Cardinals are set to lose Love for around a month, as he's going to land on injured reserve, forcing him to miss at least the next four games for Arizona as they deal with a lot of injury issues on offense this season.
