For the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams, their offense is going to look a lot different than it has for much of the season.

Marvin Harrison Jr. was traded to the Houston Texans, leaving this wide receiver room to be led by Michael Wilson and Kendrick Bourne. But unfortunately, that's not the only big change to this offense.

As ESPN's Field Yates reports, first-round running back Jeremiyah Love is going to miss Week 6 due to a lingering ankle injury. In an already tough matchup, the Cardinals are now going to be without a key playmaker this weekend.

Cardinals rule out Jeremiyah Love for Week 6 amid lingering ankle injury

"Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love is OUT for Week 6," Yates reported. "Mike LaFleur says there is no discussion of placing him on IR though."

This is not the kind of update the Cardinals were hoping to get with Love at this point in the season. But this injury issue might've been lingering for quite some time.

During the preseason, Love suffered an ankle injury, and there was some concern he'd miss time. But the No. 3 overall pick played in Week 1, running the ball 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in a more limited role due to this injury.

He then ran the ball nine times in Week 2, raising some concern about the star running back. But, a 21-carry, 90-yard performance was very encouraging. It seemed Love had finally put his ankle injury behind him and was set to break out.

But Love's ankle injury kept being a problem, and after the team's Week 5 matchup against the Detroit Lions, where Love ran for just 22 yards on 12 rushing attempts, the Cardinals RB didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday.

Now, on Friday before the team's Week 6 matchup against a tough Rams team, the Cardinals have ruled out Love for one week to try to get this ankle injury right.

Tyler Allgeier will take over as the lead back, with Zonovan "Bam" Knight also factoring into the backfield, with a practice squad call-up possible to give Arizona three running backs in Week 6.

For the Cardinals' long-term plans, resting Love for a week makes a lot of sense. This is going to be a situation to continue to monitor going forward, as Love, before the sixth game of his rookie season, has been ruled out while dealing with an ankle injury.
