The Kansas City Chiefs are one of three remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, sitting at 4-0. Coming off their Week 5 bye, the Chiefs will now face off against the Los Angeles Chargers, who've been having about as bad a season as possible so far.

Sitting at 0-5, the Chargers are still looking for their first win. Facing this tough Chiefs team, it's going to take a massive effort to win this week. But the Chiefs did get some bad news on Friday that will make things easier for the Chargers.

According to Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star, the Chiefs are going to be without Rashee Rice and offensive tackle Josh Simmons in Week 6.

Chiefs to rule out Rashee Rice, Josh Simmons for Week 6 vs. Chargers

"Rashee Rice and Josh Simmons will not play Sunday against the Chargers," McDowell reported Friday afternoon.

This is a tough blow for the Chiefs' offense, as they lost Tyquan Thornton for the rest of the year in Week 4 with a brutal ankle injury, and now will be without Rice in Week 6 coming out of the bye,

Simmons is still working his way back, but Khalil Benson has been a solid starter in his absence. The wide receiver room, on the other hand, is very shaky for this week's matchup.

Patrick Mahomes will have Travis Kelce and Kenneth Walker III to throw to, but in the WR room, it's a severely depleted group following the Rice and Thornton injuries.

Xavier Worthy is the WR1 right now, with Jalen Royals, Cyrus Allen, and Nikko Remigio rounding out the current depth chart. Justin Watson, recently signed by the Chiefs, might be activated on game day to bolster the WR depth chart.

Fortunately, if there was ever a week where the Chiefs could afford to have depleted WR room, it's this one against the lowly 0-5 Chargers.

While this is not an easy game, as no NFL game is, the Chiefs should still be able to handle business against this Chargers squad in Week 6, even without Rice and Simmons.
