Can Raiders still trade Maxx Crosby? Explaining what's next after failed Ravens deal

1 hour ago 2

The Las Vegas Raiders' blockbuster trade with the Baltimore Ravens involving star edge rusher Maxx Crosby is no more.

The Raiders announced on Tuesday night that the Ravens have backed out of the deal, and The Athletic's Dianna Russini later reported that is was due to a failed physical.

"Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical today, per sources. The Ravens get their first round picks back," Russini reported.

Along with the Ravens getting their two first-round picks back, the Raiders will now have $30 million added back to their payroll, which could complicate things in the short term because of all the deals the Raiders signed players to in free agency.

Can Raiders still trade Maxx Crosby?

Yes, they absolutely can, and we'd assume there will still be teams willing to trade for him, but their chances of getting two first-round picks again are slim.

That's because teams are going to use this situation against the Raiders to get Crosby at a reduced price.

Said teams know the tough position the Raiders are now in and that there's an issue with his knee, and that's going to hurt Las Vegas' attempt to get maximum value for Crosby.

It is also worth noting that teams have different doctors and evaluations, so what one team might see as a problem, another team could view it differently.

Nevertheless, this will be a fascinating situation to watch moving forward.
