Can J.J. McCarthy enter the game vs. Packers after Kyler Murray's injury

In less than one quarter, the Minnesota Vikings have an injury concern with quarterback Kyler Murray, which has forced the team to go into its bench.

On the Vikings' third drive of the Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers, Murray took a hit to his head from safety Javon Bullard while sliding.

Can J.J. McCarthy enter after Kyler Murray's injury?

J.J. McCarthy, who is the No. 3 quarterback on the Vikings depth chart behind Murray and Wentz, is currently inactive for the game.

That leaves him serving as the emergency third quarterback, which means he can only enter the game if Wentz gets hurt, also, and Murray can't return.

The Vikings cannot put McCarthy into the game simply if Wentz struggles.

Given Wentz's injury history, McCarthy has a better chance than most emergency third quarterbacks have to get into the game.
