The New Orleans Saints have been undergoing some big changes so far this offseason, with the most noteworthy being the additions of Travis Etienne and David Edwards.
But, just as important as the additions are the players departing the Saints this offseason. Demario Davis is with the New York Jets, and Alontae Taylor signed with the Tennessee Titans. Taysom Hill remains a free agent, and so too does Cameron Jordan.
Jordan is one player that Saints fans would surely have interest in bringing back for a 16th season. However, Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports named a different team than the Saints as Jordan's perfect free agent fit this offseason in the AFC powerhouse Kansas City Chiefs.
Cameron Jordan named perfect fit for Chiefs, not Saints
"The New Orleans Saints star is looking to play his 16th NFL season, and it could be his first away from New Orleans," Dejani writes. "Kansas City could score Jordan on a cheap deal as the Chiefs look to rebound in 2026."
Jordan is 36 years old, and with the Saints looking to bring about a youth movement with the roster, with Tyler Shough and Kellen Moore entering their second seasons, he could be an odd man out.
But the Saints haven't outright expressed a desire to move on, and they're likely leaving the door open to a reunion. Letting someone as talented and iconic for the franchise leave in free agency would be a tough blow for the Saints.
More The Marshon Lattimore trade has aged incredibly well for Saints
The eight-time Pro Bowler is going to field interest this offseason, as he looks to play his 16th year in the NFL. He is coming off a 10.5 sack season for the Saints in 2025, so there is still some upside with his game.
He's not a veteran presence only; he can actually be a contributor to a winning team in 2026. While the Saints are looking to turn the corner, the youth-movement that the team has undergone this offseason could spell the end of Jordan's time in New Orleans.
Losing Jordan is a very real possibility for the Saints. They're still involved, but with the Chiefs as a "perfect" fit for Jordan in free agency, the longtime Saints pass rusher could be closing out an incredible career on a new team for the first time in his career.
