Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson already 'flourishing' before 2026 season

"Flourishing" is the kind of word you want to hear associated with your favorite NFL team. That's exactly what they're calling the relationship between Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams before the Chicago Bears' season. So beautiful, right?

Johnson is starting his second year with the franchise. Williams is starting his third. Both of these guys have been around long enough to get to know the franchise. Both have already thrived here. Now, it's time to turn up the heat.

In a feature for Bleacher Report, NFL expert and analyst Alex Kay rattles off one reason each NFL team shouldn't be overlooked in 2026. For the Bears, he loves the "flourishing" relationship between these two.

In the piece, Kay says that Johnson certainly "lived up to the immense hype surrounding the Chicago Bears' decision to hire him as their head coach last year."

That's definitely the case. The team went first in the NFC North. That's beyond impressive.

"Johnson's work with Caleb Williams was the driving force behind Chicago's success," he adds. "The coach's system elevated the second-year quarterback to the cusp of stardom and could push him into the league's upper echelon this season."

If you needed another reason to believe in the Bears this season, there it is. Since the Bears already have bragging rights after being the NFC North champion and made it to the postseason, they're poised to only build on that success when they hit the field in September.
