Caitlin Clark’s 3-point stats in road games are the worst in the WNBA for Fever

Caitlin Clark is one of the best shooters of a basketball on the planet, but you wouldn't know it by the way she performs on the road this season.

The Indiana Fever superstar missed all six of her 3-point attempts Tuesday night in a win at Seattle, continuing a worrisome trend.

On the season, Clark is now 1-for-28 from 3-point range in road games. Yes, you read that right.

Want it in a percentage? That's 3.57%.

It's uncanny, because Clark is 22-for-50 (44%) from downtown in home games.

Even the best shooters often shoot it a little better in their home arena. Sightlines are more comfortable, and the home crowd is on your side.

Clark didn't have this problem at all as a rookie. She actually shot better on the road (36.7%) than at home (32.3%) on her 3-pointers.

There are a couple ways to look at this season's statistics.

One is to mostly write it off as a small-sample size. The Fever have played multiple road games lately in which Clark has struggled, but maybe she was due for a slump and would've missed the same shots at home, too.

Another is to worry that there's something wrong with Clark, or some kind of daunting pressure to perform, that somehow hits stronger in road games.

In reality, a combination of a bunch of factors has probably contributed to this disparity.

But it's still hard to fathom. Clark is a great shooter, even from extra deep. She's probably never gone on a 1-for-28 shooting stretch in her life, but that's where she is right now in road games.

Clark surely wants to fix the problem, and considering her greatness, she's probably already on her way to a turnaround.
