Caitlin Clark robbed by no foul call in last-second Fever loss to Liberty

3 hours ago 1

At one point, the Indiana Fever were down by 15 points. Later on, the New York Liberty trailed by 12.

But fittingly, the two WNBA powers were tied 88-88 with 10 seconds left in regulation.

Sabrina Ionescu put the Liberty up with a pair of free throws with 2.9 seconds left on the clock, and Indiana used its final timeout to advance the ball.

It was going to Caitlin Clark, which everyone in the gym knew.

She caught at the top of the key, dribbled left and started to gather to pull up.

Natasha Cloud stuck an arm through Clark's right side and knocked the ball away.

It appeared to be clear contact, both before the shot and then while Clark was rising up to shoot. No whistle was blown.

Clark put her arms in the air and went straight toward the referee in disbelief.

Cloud may have partially contacted the ball. But you can't go through a player's side to get to it like that.

Clark appeared to say to the refs, "Are you f—ing kidding me?"

The refs could've called the foul on the floor to avoid giving Clark three free throws.

There's a common refrain about not wanting refs to decide the game. But in this case, the lack of call decided the game.

It was a great basketball clash, and it's too bad it ended in controversy.
