Caitlin Clark makes a small personal admission that could have a big impact on girls everywhere

The Indiana Fever are definitely hitting the hardwood during training camp this week, but the team is also making sure to have a lot of fun — and if there's anyone at the franchise working almost as hard as the athletes on the court, it just might be the social media team.

On Monday, April 28, the Fever posted a video of Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull completing the sticky hands challenge. For the unfamiliar, a group of people (or in this case, two) each take a sticky hand (the kind you can get in the quarter machines at grocery stores) and try to pick up something with it. The first one to pick up the item wins.

In the video, Clark and Hull took turns trying to snag photos of themselves and their teammates. It's clear from the beginning that the seemingly easy challenge is actually pretty tough, and Clark's characteristic competitiveness kicks in early.

But something else also happens. The first photo down is a large picture of one of the new Fever team members, DeWanna Bonner. Hull eventually grabs the photo and raises it victoriously and the pair move on. Hull wins the next round, too, with Clark saying, "Give it!" but moving on. The photos get progressively smaller until Clark's own photo is on the table.

"You can't even see her head!" Hull exclaims as Clark notices, "It's me! I look cute."

The pair continue on with the challenge, with Clark eventually snagging her photo.

The moment was a small one, but it's impactful. Conditions are changing, but in 2025 there are still too many people who immediately criticize professional women athletes for their looks — you're too tall, too short, too wide, too small, too dark, too light, too masculine. Clark certainly benefits from being white and heterosexual and conventionally attractive, but the organic way she immediately noticed that she looked cute in her photo is something that should be noticed and celebrated, and something that will matter to young girls who see the video and realize they look cute in their own photos, too.

Women's sports are experiencing a massive shift right now, and the athletes at the center are responsible for leading the way (whether they always want to or not). It's refreshing and wholesome to see this happening so readily and easily, and it speaks volumes of the culture at Indiana in the first place.
